The Honorable Robert D. Bell
Robert Bell received his B.A. degree from the University of Oklahoma, J.D. from The University of Tulsa College of Law and his LL.M. from the Duke University School of Law. While at TU’s College of Law, Bell received the award for distinguished service to the House of Delegates in recognition of being elected to office all three years of school. He was engaged in private practice for 13 years in Norman, Oklahoma. During the same time, he was a municipal judge for the cities of Moore, Purcell, Blanchard, Noble and Broken Arrow.
Appointed to the municipal bench in 1994, Bell was the youngest sitting judge of any kind in the state of Oklahoma. He has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law since 1998. In June 2005, he was appointed as a judge on the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. Bell was named one of e Journal Record’s “Achievers under 40” in Oklahoma for 2006. Bell is an admired member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, as well as the District of Columbia Bar Association. He was elected as chief judge of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals for 2011. Last year, Bell was selected to sit on the United States Supreme Court Historical Society.
