Once again recognized by US News & World Report as a Top 100 law school, TU Law offers an outstanding legal education to bright, talented law students at an affordable cost. This fall, we experienced a 5% increase in 1L enrollment, which is a recognition of our outstanding programs, high placement rate for graduates, and affordability. Importantly, TU Law provides attention and leadership to the cost of legal education and to student debt.
In October, PreLaw Magazine ranked TU Law the #1 best value private law school in the nation. Beginning in 2017, TU Law will launch the Access to Legal Education Tuition. With a full-time annual tuition of $24,600, TU Law will be one of the nation’s most affordable private Top 100 law schools and competitive with top-tier public law schools.
TU Law faculty provide the intellectual leadership and educational innovation for creating and maintaining the community of academic excellence at TU Law. Among our distinguished faculty is Professor Robert Spoo, whose upcoming article will appear in Stanford Law Review and who will soon embark on a Guggenheim Fellowship to continue his cutting-edge work on the intersection of law, literature, and intellectual property. Professor Stephen Galoob’s ambitious scholarship includes Fiduciary Political Theory: A Critique, forthcoming in the Yale Law Journal. And Associate Dean Elizabeth McCormick not only leads TU Law’s creative expansion of experiential learning opportunities, but also she received The University of Tulsa’s 2016 Outstanding Teacher Award, the highest award that the University bestows on a faculty member.
In addition to our academic programs and tradition of scholarly excellence, TU Law takes great pride in its outstanding placement of recent graduates in JD and JD-preferred positions. TU Law supports this placement success through academic and professional development programs designed to assure that students stand prepared to tackle the opportunities and challenges of legal practice in the 21st century. From the Dean’s Seminar to multiple forums for career growth and opportunities, TU Law maintains an unswerving commitment to students and their professional success.
From the beginning of a student’s legal education to the launching of the student’s legal career, TU Law provides a foundation and community of academic excellence, creativity, and innovation. It is an honor to lead TU Law. I look forward to the new academic year and the opportunities that lie ahead.
