Daniel V. Carsey (JD '05)


2015 Outstanding Junior Alumnus

Daniel V. Carsey served as editor-in-chief of the Tulsa Law Review (2004-2005), was a member of the TU Law ATLA Trial Team (2003-2004), and was a teacher’s assistant for Contracts and Legal Research and Writing (2003-2004). He earned numerous awards including the Order of the Curule Chair (Top 10%) and American Legal Institute-American Bar Association Leadership & Scholarship Award (2004-2005). After graduating with highest honors, Carsey was a federal judicial clerk to the Honorable Earl S. Hines, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Since completing his federal clerkship, Carsey has been in private practice as an Oklahoma City attorney who primarily handles business litigation with a specific emphasis on employment, oil and gas, debt collection, bankruptcy, taxation, and insolvency matters. He is an active member of several civic organizations and has been recognized as a top-rated business litigation lawyer and an Oklahoma Rising Star by Super Lawyers every year since 2009, including 2015.

After several years of private practice in Tulsa (at Jones Gotcher) and Oklahoma City (at Conner & Winters), Carsey and Denis P. Rischard established the law firm of Rischard & Carsey, PLLC in Oklahoma City.
Currently, Carsey is a member of the Fee Grievance and Ethics Committee and the Bench and Bar Committee for the Oklahoma County Bar Association and the Bench and Bar Committee for the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Carsey has been involved in various educational programs provided by the TU College of Law and continues to provide support to the College. He resides in Oklahoma City with his wife Jennifer and their two children.
